The Change from Winter to Summer Coat
Regular grooming of the horse is naturally part of horse care for every horse enthusiast. If not the entire animal daily, then at least the areas where equipment such as bridles, saddles, girths, harnesses, or leg protection are applied must be cleaned. By removing dirt, sand, grime, and dead hair, pressure points are avoided. Grooming is also beneficial for skin health and circulation, as long as it is not overdone. And – a well-groomed, shiny, and well-cared-for horse simply looks more beautiful!
Introducing Grooming Routines – Good for the Body and Soul of Horse and Rider
Grooming in its routine offers even more advantages: On the one hand, the horse is systematically inspected from front to back, with every body part and every bit of skin being examined, so that even small injuries, ticks, or mosquito eggs can be immediately discovered and removed or treated. On the other hand, grooming promotes the bond between horse and human. During grooming, both get to know each other better. The horse recognizes someone as a friend who knows where it particularly likes to be stroked and caressed. Often, you can already determine the horse's mood while grooming. This can be helpful for the subsequent work.
