After a 7-year break, the European Show returns, and Nitra has become the meeting point for small animal breeding.
For many years, Mifuma has been a partner of the Entente Européenne. This is the umbrella organization of European small animal breeders for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fancy pigeons, and poultry. The association represents 850,000 members from 34 countries. The association's task is to keep small animal breeding alive: for today's breeders as well as for future generations. Considering that small animal breeding is declining in our regions, it is important that we also look beyond Germany's borders.
To be a European Champion once...
At the European Show, European champions and champion animals are chosen. Being awarded at such a show is the dream of many breeders, which few can make come true. But it's not just the breeding performance that counts. The friendship among breeders is also an important aspect. After all, where else do you have the opportunity to meet breeding friends from 23 countries? And the biodiversity is not lacking either: Despite bird flu, around 23,000 animals were exhibited, providing impressive diversity and amazed visitors.
Many visitors at Europe's largest small animal exhibition
The fair was officially opened on Friday noon with invited guests. Admission for "everyone" took place at 2 p.m. For us as a company, conversations with breeders are crucial. Because personal conversation is important: Personal encounters build trust. And if you can also look at and sniff every desired product, you have a real product experience. Both trade fair enthusiasts and many breeders stopped by our stand, telling us about their successes at the European Show. And we can also record a European champion and champion in our own ranks! Our sales representative Markus Kynast excelled with his Small Viennese, iron gray.
Eventful days at the European Show
Saturday also felt like a single whirl of conversations and encounters; and seamlessly at 6 p.m., it continued at the breeders' evening. The farewell on Sunday was easy. Our stand was already well sold out. The European Show in Nitra was quite an experience, but in the end, one is also a bit glad that the next big European Show is not expected until November 2028. So we still have a little recovery time. The state and federal shows ensure that no one gets bored in between.
