European Champion with his Spanish Strawberry Eyes

“I have been breeding pedigree pigeons since I was 12 years old: first Arabian trumpeters, then show racers,” explains Marius Matz. Since 2007, he has been devoting himself to Figurita pigeons, as well as Spanish strawberry eyes and, for the past two years, Exhibition Homers. When it comes to feeding, Marius Matz pays attention to high-quality mixtures: “I feed my Figurita pigeons and Strawberry Eyes pigeons Klassik Mais Vital, which I supplement with a third of wheat,” explains Matz. He feeds his Exhibition Homer pigeons with “Große Rasse Premium,” a mixture that he himself helped develop. “This large-grain, nutritious recipe is eaten completely by the birds and has proven itself in breeding.” He celebrated his greatest success in 2024 when he became VDT champion with his yellow strawberry-eyed pigeon in the wart pigeon category. He has been a judge for pedigree pigeons since 2017 and is now certified for all breeds.
