“Inspired by my father, I started breeding pigeons when I was just eleven years old,” says Rudi Tissen. “Right from the start, I was fascinated by these animals—their elegance, their nature, and their charisma.”
Today, Tissen devotes himself entirely to Cologne Tumblers in the white color variety. “This breed immediately captivated me. The purity of their plumage and their lively nature make them something special to me.”
Over the years, he has enjoyed many successes. “I am a multiple SV champion, club and district champion, and holder of the Rhineland Star,” he reports proudly. “In addition, I have numerous V and HV animals at national shows – this shows me that my breeding work is on the right track.”
For him, feeding is an important component of his success. “Without high-quality feed, it simply doesn't work,” emphasizes Tissen. “A balanced mixture of fine grains, legumes, and oilseeds is indispensable for me. It optimally covers the special needs of my breed of pigeons and ensures vitality and performance.”
