Sascha Lutz is not only a breeder with heart and soul, he is also involved in clubs and as a judge. A good 25 years ago, it was Strasser pigeons, then Moravian Strasser pigeons and, at times, Bohemian pigeons joined the mix. “I am particularly fond of the glossy colors; admiring the shiny plumage of the breeding birds and young birds in the sun is truly fascinating,” enthuses Sascha Lutz. This characteristic is supported by feeding ZJM Vital: "I find the year-round mixture ZJM Vital in combination with Vollkraft Perle particularly excellent during the breeding phase, as the breeding pigeons are perfectly cared for in aviary housing. The particularly high protein content promotes good feeding and the growth of the young pigeons. Approximately 7% Vital Perle is added to ZJM Vital for the weaned young birds to ensure an optimal vitamin supply for the future exhibition animals. From the main moulting period onwards, approximately 15% Mifuma seeds are added to the feed and, in combination with feed lime and various oils, this supports the shine of the plumage, especially in the lacquer colors. “For me, the ZJM Vital mixture, along with fresh water every day, is part of the perfect basic care for my pigeons and the basis for success at the exhibitions I enter,” says Sascha Lutz.
“Especially when breeding purebred pigeons, it is important that the whole family gets involved. The animals need to be well cared for 365 days a year. While I am away on business, my two daughters Hanna and Sophie take over this task,” says the proud father. Sascha Lutz never gets bored: since 2014, he has been a judge in the Bavarian State Association, licensed for all pigeon groups. He is also a special judge for Strasser, Moravian Strasser, Prachener Kanik, and Bohemian pigeons. He is also involved as vice-chairman of the local association and as breeding supervisor for the Moravian Strasser and Prachener Kanik Group South. In his role as a judge, it is often not easy to send pigeons to exhibitions, but when they are exhibited, there is usually something to celebrate: Bavarian, German, and European champion titles, European champion, champion in the special association. 200 ribbons, pennants, and trophies have already been won, and many more will certainly find their way to Manching.
