Care Plan for Fancy Pigeons

 

January	• Possibly smallpox vaccination • Fecal examination, then carry out treatment accordingly
February	• Paramyxo vaccination • Crop swabs for individual pigeons, carry out treatment accordingly if necessary
March and April	• Conduct fecal examinations at intervals for control • Control of ectoparasites • Don't forget bathing
May to August	• Control of ectoparasites • Regular fecal examination • Conduct crop swabs for individual pigeons • Don't forget bathing • Regular supply of fruit and vegetable grains and Vollkraft Perle • Check transport baskets
September	• Paramyxo vaccination • Control of ectoparasites • Regular supply of fruit and vegetable grains and Vollkraft Perle • Don't forget bathing • Acclimatization of pigeons to the exhibition cage and transport basket
October to December	• For show animals before and after shows: regular supply of fruit and vegetable grains and Vollkraft Perle • Regular fecal examination

 

PLEASE ALWAYS NOTE:
• Pigeons should always have small amounts of grit and pigeon cake available.
• Lettuce and other green plants can be regularly provided to pigeons at their disposal.
• The use of pH-Optimal in drinking water reduces the pH value. This keeps the drinking water fresh longer and reduces the number of germs in the water.
