The temperatures are rising, the days are getting longer, and the horses' bodies are also switching to spring mode. Now the winter coat is being shed, and the animals begin to molt. The hair is gradually shed – first the long topcoat and then the thick undercoat. To support the large four-legged friends, riders and horse owners can do something good for their darlings – from the inside. In the Mifuma horse feed program, you will find two products with our Linamix and the Herbal Mash that cover the special needs of your horse during the transition to summer and winter coat.
In particular, Linamix should not be missing from any feed trough as a supplement to the daily ration during the coat change. The supplementary feed made from extruded linseed is particularly rich in omega-3 fatty acids and ensures healthy hair growth and a shiny coat. As a valuable protein supplier, linseed provides the horse with essential amino acids and supports a stress-free and smooth hair change. The prebiotic fiber inulin supports gut health and thus also the immune system.
Another recommendation for the coat change period is the Mifuma Herbal Mash, which can be offered as a cold or warm meal as a replacement for the concentrate ration or as a supplement to the daily ration. The classic during the coat change contains various linseed products in addition to digestion-regulating wheat bran and can be fed two to three times a week. Linseed oil and extruded linseed are a valuable source of essential amino acids and omega-3 and 6 fatty acids. This provides the horse with important nutrients for hair formation and skin health. The coat gains a natural shine. Mifuma Herbal Mash also provides the natural prebiotic inulin, which supports the digestive system and relieves the immune system.
