Demand-oriented use of pig feed.

Feed Nitrogen and Phosphorus According to Needs – for Animal Welfare and the Environment

Nitrogen and phosphorus are elements that pigs ingest with their daily feed. If the intake is greater than the pigs' needs, the excess is excreted through urine and feces. This excess then reaches the field with the slurry and can leach into the groundwater or escape into the air as gas. Increased ammonia can also form within the barn, harming both animals and humans. For these reasons, in recent years, there has been increased attention not only to meeting the pigs' needs but also to avoiding excesses in the feed. This can protect the environment without reducing the animals' performance.

Avoiding Excesses

One way to avoid an excess of nitrogen and phosphorus is to use N-/P-reduced pig fattening supplementary feed. By using free amino acids, an ideal ratio of amino acids for the pigs can be created. This allows the total protein content of the ration to be reduced without affecting the pigs. By adding phytase, the phosphorus bound to phytin becomes more usable for the animals, maintaining their performance.

Nitrogen and Phosphorus-Reduced Pig Feed in the Mifuma Program

The Mifuma pig feed program includes various pig fattening supplements with reduced nitrogen and phosphorus content. This applies to both a conventional feeding program and one with VLOG-certified and GMO-free components. Depending on the fattening periods, we offer you the BA VM N+P for the pre-fattening as well as BA Porko Mast N+P and BA S.win Mast V+M N+P for the middle and final fattening.

All feeds are available as needed in VLOG-certified quality or as a conventional variant.
