Luzerne-Mix – Improved Structure

We have revised our alfalfa mix! The result is a cleaner mix with less dust and real added value for the animal. This is achieved by an extra splash of vegetable oil, which is added to the freshly harvested, pure alfalfa. High-quality vegetable oil is not only good for the skin and coat of horses and rabbits, but also has positive effects on various metabolic processes and reduces the dust content.

High-fiber feed supplement for large and small animals

Alfalfa mix is an ideal feed supplement for the daily hay ration of horses and small animals - such as rabbits and guinea pigs. The sensitive digestive system of all animals that rely on a high-fiber diet is supported and promoted - right from the start of feed intake. Alfalfa not only impresses with its high structural value, but it is also famous for its valuable ingredients and is rightly called the "queen of forage plants." In addition to essential amino acids, alfalfa also contains many vitamins such as carotene (provitamin A) and various B vitamins. The trace elements such as iron and copper and minerals such as magnesium contained are easily available to the animals. Our alfalfa mix is free from preservatives and additives. The newly added natural vegetable oil enhances it with high-quality fatty acids.

New recipe and high-quality production!

At Mifuma, the bar is set very high even during production. The freshly harvested alfalfa is partially defoliated in a special process after hot air drying before being pressed into handy bales and is now sprayed with vegetable oil. This process preserves the valuable ingredients, protects the natural vitamins, and reduces the total protein content and the total fine content of our product. The lower protein content allows for a better enhancement of the daily ration with alfalfa without risking protein over-supply. The animals benefit from the structurally rich feed supplement from the nutrient-rich stems. The additional splash of vegetable oil not only has positive effects on various metabolic processes, but it is also good for the skin and coat of horses and rabbits. As a positive side effect, the remaining natural fine content from the alfalfa leaves is bound, keeping the box, stable, and enclosure cleaner and protecting the respiratory tract.

To enhance rabbit feed

Due to its high fiber content, the alfalfa mix not only supports the digestive process of sensitive animals but also the entire metabolism of rabbits. Natural nutrients such as proteins, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals make alfalfa a highly valued feed enhancement among breeders. Partial defoliation lowers the total protein content, as the leaves contain particularly many protein components. In addition, the unwanted fine content is reduced. Especially the sensitive digestive system of young rabbits should not be burdened with excessive protein content at first. Through our process, alfalfa mix is now also suitable for young rabbits to provide them with important structure for building a stable gastrointestinal system. However, it should initially be fed in very small amounts for acclimatization. If well accepted, the amount can be increased over the weeks of life. For adult rabbits, alfalfa mix is offered in addition to the daily hay ration or mixed with hay or other herbs. Up to 50% of the hay ration per day can be replaced with alfalfa mix.

Roughage supplement for horses

In horse feeding, alfalfa is also a popular roughage supplement. Feed structure and the various fiber fractions have crucial functions for the gastrointestinal activity of a horse. Not only does intensive salivation for better buffering in the horse's stomach occur, but better digestive processes in the intestinal tract are also promoted. In addition to these nutritional benefits of alfalfa, riders and horse breeders appreciate the natural vitamins, trace elements, and minerals with high availability. Calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) are the most important minerals for stable bones. In horse feed, they should be present in the correct ratio (± 1.5:1 to 2.1:1 for adult horses) for high usability. The well-available calcium in our alfalfa mix balances the Ca:P ratio in grain-rich rations. Compared to hay, alfalfa also stands out for its lower starch and sugar content, which can cause problems in horses with metabolic disorders or high body weight. The addition of vegetable oil in the alfalfa mix provides the horse with additional fatty acids.

The alfalfa mix is excellent for enhancing the hay ration. Alfalfa mix is offered with 1.5 to 3 kg per animal per day with good quality roughage and, if necessary, concentrate feed. To promote chewing activity and saliva production, and thus slow down feed intake at the trough and support digestive processes, the crib feed is mixed with alfalfa mix.
