Optimal during competition and pasture season

As temperatures rise, most horses are turned out to pasture more regularly. At the same time, the competition season begins for active and sport horses. With grazing and increased performance demands, the nutritional requirements and the amount of concentrate feed change. As with any feed transition, in spring as well as in autumn, it is important to introduce grazing gradually and adjust feeding accordingly. Fresh grass can affect the horse’s system, and intensive training can also challenge digestion and metabolism. It is therefore important to keep an eye on nutrient and carbohydrate intake to avoid digestive issues. A balanced feeding approach with pasture, suitable concentrate feed, additional nutrients, as well as constant access to hay and fresh water is essential.

Mineral feed as a supplement to pasture
While grazing, horses usually have access to sufficient feed in the form of grass, plants, and herbs. However, it is important to ensure an adequate supply of trace elements and minerals. We recommend Mifuma Mineral Premium. With its balanced composition of macro and trace elements and its vitamin content, it complements the daily grass ration and supports a well balanced diet during the grazing season. As throughout the year, fresh hay and water should always be available, especially in warmer weather.

Pellets and mueslis as a base feed
Mifuma Elite Pellet, with its selected and easily digestible ingredients, is ideal as a base concentrate feed during grazing. This premium feed provides a high level of nutrients and energy and can also be combined with grain. It stands out due to its composition and vitamin content. Active and sport horses are well supported with this feed when higher performance is required. For those who prefer a structured mix, Aktiv-Müsli offers processed grains and a combination of protein sources. Its structure promotes chewing and supports digestion with the help of a prebiotic component. Both Elite Pellet and Aktiv-Müsli can be supplemented with grain as an energy source if needed.

Additional protein for competition horses
A well balanced diet is essential for horses preparing for competition. Mifuma Linamix provides valuable proteins from linseed and peas as well as a high level of vitamin E. Omega 3 fatty acids and isomaltulose support performance, stamina, and recovery. This helps prepare horses for the demands of competition.
