Horse feed tips for autumn

Do you know this too? In autumn, your horse moves from pasture to stable and, out of boredom, starts getting into trouble. It eats straw instead of grass and hay, and exercise is limited. Caution – risk of colic!

To prevent this, we recommend our Kräuter-Mash. It is ideal for preventing digestive issues. Fed warm 2–3 times a week, it is a real treat for horses, especially on cold and damp autumn days. Its highly digestible components, valuable fatty acids and vitamins such as biotin also support the horse’s metabolism during the demanding coat change.

If you are looking for a suitable feed to complement the basic ration in autumn and winter, take a look at our Mifuma Kräuter-Müsli. The medicinal herbs it contains are beneficial for the respiratory system and support the immune system. After all, respiratory and cold-related issues, which often occur in stabled horses during wet and cold weather, are best avoided.

Another recurring topic in autumn is the coat change. After grooming, the brush is full of hair, yet the horse still looks rough and shaggy – a classic. To support your horse during this time, you can easily enhance the diet with Mifuma Linamix. This complementary feed made from extruded linseed is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and promotes a shiny coat. At the same time, it stimulates digestion and supports the already stressed metabolism. The prebiotic fibre inulin also has a positive effect on gut health.

With these tips, your horse will stay fit through autumn and winter! And let’s be honest – rides through golden autumn leaves and time spent in the arena have their own special charm.
