Poultry feed

Our poultry feed combines passion, expertise, experience and many high-quality ingredients. We supply chickens, roosters, quails, pheasants, ducks, geese and many more. Our complete feeds and supplementary feeds are tailored to the life stage of the poultry species — whether chicks, breeding roosters or laying hens. Breeders of purebred poultry will find what they need in our poultry feed, as will hobby farmers.

Poultry feed from Mifuma

Whether you have chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys or quails, you will find the right feed for your animals here. Chicks in rearing, pullets and young roosters or laying hens: the needs of purebred poultry are ideally met. At Mifuma you will find a wealth of expertise, as many of our employees have experience in chicken farming themselves and are passionate about preserving purebred animals.

But even if you don't keep purebred poultry and perhaps “only” have a few laying hens at home for your own egg production, you will find the right laying hen feed with us. Mifuma offers poultry feed for every type of poultry. Mifuma poultry feed is available in organic quality or VLOG-certified (Verband Lebensmittel ohne Gentechnik e.V. – Association for Food without Genetic Engineering).

Chick feed for healthy young animals

Not all chick feed is the same: the right chick feed is extremely important for chickens and poultry in the first weeks of life. From day one, chicks are ideally fed with our young animal feed in mash, pellet or crumb form. Our carefully considered and tailored composition provides chicks with important nutrients and additives for greater vitality.

The chicks quickly grow into young poultry. However, it would be wrong to feed them layer feed at this stage, as laying should not be stimulated yet. From the age of 9 weeks, pullets and young roosters are fed our complete feed in mash, pellet, or crumb form. A distinction is made between feed for young hens and feed for young roosters. Young hens should mature slowly into laying hens, while roosters need energy to develop strong bones and good musculature.

Chicken feed for optimal laying performance

Whatever sparks your passion for chicken farming, we have poultry feed for both purebred animals and small poultry families at home. At Mifuma, your chickens will receive poultry feed tailored to their needs.

For chickens ready to lay, we offer a wide selection of feed in various types, in mash or pellet form, as complete feed or supplementary feed. The supplementary feed is used in combination with a grain mixture. To switch to chicken feed for adult animals, mix the pullet feed with the desired laying hen feed over a period of several days so that the chickens can easily get used to the new feed. If you need to switch from pellets to laying mash, moisten the mash slightly for the first few days. This will make the transition to chicken feed easier. Both complete feed and supplementary feed are also available in organic quality on request, in mash or pellet form. If you opt for complete feed, you as a poultry farmer do not need to feed the chickens anything else. The chickens receive all the nutrients and additives they need to lay eggs according to their poultry species.

If you opt for a laying supplement, you can offer your laying hens two parts laying mash to one part grain feed, for example. This also provides them with excellent laying hen feed. The choice is up to each poultry farmer. You decide on the feed that is best suited to your husbandry conditions. This way you get delicious eggs without genetic engineering or even in organic quality.

If you want to slaughter your poultry, our Mast Allround poultry feed is ideal. This poultry feed is also suitable for ducks, geese and turkeys. Packed with energy- and protein-rich ingredients, this feed is used as a complete feed in the last weeks of life before slaughter.

For hybrid laying hens make sure you offer other sources of calcium in addition to our chicken feed. This could be our Vital-Power-Stein or our Austernschalen, for example. This will help counteract calcium and magnesium deficiencies caused by the genetically determined high performance of laying hens. In addition you can supplement our poultry feed with Frucht- und Gemüsekorn, which you can feed at a rate of approx. 20 g per chicken per day in addition to the normal chicken feed. It is rich in linoleic acid, color pigments, vitamins and amino acids, thus promoting the chickens' resistance.

Feed for ornamental poultry such as quails and pheasants

The quail is the smallest of all poultry species. However, our quail feed is also suitable for other ornamental poultry species such as pheasants, guinea fowl or peacocks. For raising quail chicks, we offer our Wachtel Aufzucht ZA as a complete feed in crumble form. This feed can already be easily consumed by a quail chick. Afterwards, you use our Wachtel Zucht + Haltung ZZH for breeding and maintenance. Wachtel Zucht + Haltung can be used as a complete feed during breeding. In pure maintenance it can be combined as a supplementary feed with a grain feed. Our Spezialmischung Premium gegrützt is also very suitable for ornamental poultry, as the fine-seeded texture is readily eaten.

Feed for large poultry and waterfowl

We also offer a wide selection of feed for large poultry and waterfowl such as ducks and geese. You feed our Wassergeflügel Aufzucht WA for rearing during the first six weeks of life of duck and goose chicks. The complete feed is tailored to the rapid growth of the chicks, so that they receive all important nutrients and additives during this phase of life. From the seventh week of life, you then feed the chicks our Wassergeflügel Aufzucht Extensive WAE. This feed is important for pedigree poultry that you want to use later in breeding. In this way ducks and geese grow up slowly. Wassergeflügel Zucht WZ is our feed for ducks and geese that you want to use in breeding. The complete feed for pedigree animals ideally supplies ducks and geese with all important nutrients for a good fertilization rate and good chick hatching. Ideally, you should use this poultry feed 6–8 weeks before collecting the hatching eggs.

Feed for turkeys

All our complete feeds for turkeys contain coccidiosis protection to promote intestinal health. With our Puten Starter PS, turkey chicks are ideally protected during the first six weeks of life. Energy and proteins ensure good growth of the chicks, so that the animals are supplied with all important nutrients. Afterwards, you use our Puten Aufzucht + Mast PAM, which ensures good bone development and meat growth thanks to the nutrients and additives it contains. If you want to slaughter the turkeys, you can use our fattening feed Mast Allround at least during the last week of life. This is also suitable for ducks and geese. The fattening feed ensures the best weight gain in the final fattening phase.

Specialties and know-how for all poultry species

We also offer feed for other poultry species: We have feed for ostriches, emus and rheas as a supplement to pasture keeping, as well as fattening feed for classic broilers.

Our poultry feed range is rounded off with supplementary feeds such as Frucht- und Gemüsekorn, Austernschalen, the Vital-Power-Stein and our Pick-Max. Pick-Max is not only suitable for chickens but is also a welcome variation for other pedigree poultry species such as quails. This supplementary poultry feed keeps chickens occupied and prevents behavioral abnormalities.

In addition, poultry keepers can supplement our feed with products from Röhnfried and provide their animals with additional important additives. This ensures that your chickens are optimally supplied with our poultry feed.

The Mifuma Nature Line – poultry feed in organic quality

In the Mifuma Nature range, you will also find complete feeds and supplementary feeds in EU organic quality (DE-ÖKO-006) for your chickens. These chicken feeds give you the opportunity to produce eggs in organic quality yourself.

A change in the EU organic regulation has led us to change the names of our organic feeds to the term “Natur.” The EU organic regulation states that a poultry feed may only bear the designation “organic” in its name if at least 95% of all ingredients are organically produced agricultural raw materials. Unfortunately, lime and other minerals that laying hens need to be nutritionally correctly supplied are not available in different qualities, and they are not agricultural raw materials. However, these are fundamental for our chicken feeds. Therefore, the proportion of over 95% cannot be maintained in laying hen feeds that are fully equipped as complete or supplementary feeds. For us, the welfare of the chickens and the best possible supply of poultry take precedence over the advertising message of the “organic” label.

Because we do not make lazy compromises and do not change the proven compositions of our chicken feeds, which are combined with expertise, just so that we are allowed to continue calling them “organic.” What matters is that the chicken feed may still be used in organic production in accordance with EU Regulation 2018/848! Our poultry feeds are developed with passion, expertise, and many years of experience for your poultry.

Our experience for your passion

From grain to pellets or mash – our poultry feed contains a great deal of dedication and expertise. Because feeding your pedigree animals or laying hens is a matter of trust. We support your passion for keeping all types of pedigree poultry. With our well-designed chicken feed, not only magnificent pedigree animals for exhibitions thrive, but laying hens in gardens and on farms are also ideally supplied with Mifuma poultry feed.
